Our History

It was Thanksgiving of 1986. My freezer was stuffed with three turkeys my family had received from various businesses. I was delighted to hear a minister announce on TV that he was in desperate need of food for a Thanksgiving meal he was trying to prepare for the homeless. What a great way to get rid of those turkeys.   More>>

DID YOU KNOW

• Over 2,000,000 meals have been served since 1987


• 1,000 + volunteers cook and serve daily meals


• 60% of the program’s recipients are men, 25% are women, and 15% are children


• The truancy absence rate amount children in the program has been reduced by 75%


• 150 children are enrolled in the mentoring program


• Each child receives an average of $100 worth of school supplies every year
